People agonize over this one, so here’s the local truth: Nassau is a year-round boating town. The water sits between 75 and 85 degrees all year, and the turtles and pigs don’t take a season off.
December through April is peak season, dry, breezy, endless blue-sky days. It’s the busiest time on the island, which is exactly when a private charter pays for itself: while the big catamarans load a hundred strangers, your group of ten heads the other way.
May through August brings the calmest, clearest water of the year. Early morning departures beat the heat, and the sandbar in June is about as close to a postcard as real life gets.
