Rose Island Boat Tours from Nassau

Rose Island sits just east of Nassau — close enough for an easy run out of Nassau Harbour, far enough that the beaches empty out the moment you round the point. It is the reason most of our guests came to the Bahamas without knowing its name.

What is actually out there

The sandbar

When the tide is right, a stretch of sand sits in shallow water well off the beach. You can stand out there with clear water in every direction. It is the photograph everyone takes home, and it is not there all day — the tide decides, which is why your departure time matters.

Quiet beaches

Rose Island’s beaches are reachable only by boat. No resort, no vendors, no chairs to rent.

Snorkelling

Snorkel gear is included on every trip, and the water on these stops is calm enough for first-timers. Sea turtles are a regular sight on our island-hopping trips.

Getting to Rose Island

Rose Island is a short boat ride from Nassau Harbour. We pick up from three points, and you choose yours when you book:

• Woodes Rogers Walk — recommended for cruise guests. Between Senior Frogs and the western exit of Nassau Cruise Port, about a ten-minute walk from the ship. Free.
• Rear dock of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville — best for Paradise Island hotel guests. $6 per person dock fee, paid directly to dock staff on the day.
• Montagu — eastern Nassau, public access and free parking. Free.

There is no scheduled ferry to Rose Island. It is private-boat access, which is a large part of why the beaches stay quiet.

If you are visiting by cruise ship

A Rose Island trip fits comfortably into a day in port. A four-hour charter has you back with hours to spare, and Woodes Rogers Walk is a short walk from the ship. If your ship is delayed or misses port entirely, you receive a full refund.

When to go

Mornings are usually calmest. Sandbar timing follows the tide rather than the clock — if standing on the sandbar is the thing you most want, tell us when you book and we will build the day around it.

Up to 10 guests per boat, or up to 22 with a second boat and crew. Reserve with a 10% deposit. Cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice for a full refund.
